Treating High Blood Pressure Effectively
The subject “high blood pressure treatment” brings up over 18 million listings on Google. And “high blood pressure medications” brings up over 48 million listings. One might conclude that a lot of people have a lot to say on this subject and that it is a subject of great concern. But who can read over 48 million listings and then sort out the true data from the false?
Let us define the term. High blood pressure results when there is too much resistance to the amount of blood the heart pumps. Sometimes authorities disagree about what numbers indicate blood pressure is high, and certainly the numbers have changed over the years, but all agree that high blood pressure is not good.
Often there are no symptoms for high blood pressure. People often don’t know they have this situation. But every time you go to a doctor, the nurse will check your blood pressure. Certainly any doctor would let you know if it is high.
All doctors want to see blood pressure at a normal level in their patients. High blood pressure becomes important because the extra pressure can cause damage in the body and make the chance of stroke or heart attack more likely.
Sometimes obvious habits or conditions cause high blood pressure. Smoking is definitely a cause of high blood pressure, and being overweight can cause high blood pressure, although not all overweight people have high blood pressure. But often there is no obvious cause.
There are a lot of drugs on the market, specifically for the purpose of controlling blood pressure, and most doctors prescribe one or a combination of drugs for that purpose. However, all drugs come with side effects, and sometimes more drugs are prescribed to handle the side effects, and on and on. This is an undesirable situation.
As an alternative, hundreds of reputable studies have been done using natural supplements to control blood pressure. Coenzyme Q-10, L caritine and D-Ribose are very useful in lowering blood pressure, and a doctor trained in alternative medicine can recommend necessary amounts of these or other supplements.
Chelation therapy is another very effective way of lowering blood pressure and preventing strokes and heart attacks. It is not a new therapy, but has been around since the 1940’s, originally used to cure lead poisoning. It used a strong antioxidant, usually delivered by IV, which binds to toxins in the body and thus allows them to be eliminated. In this process, plaque is removed from arteries, and blood circulation increases, lowering blood pressure. The therapy is administered by a doctor and is an excellent alternative to taking drugs for the rest of one’s life.
