Muscle Invading Cancer Treatments – For cases where tumors have invaded the bladder wall, more drastic measures will be taken. In this case, a surgery where part of the bladder is removed, shaving off the cancerous cells. This will divert the urine stream. There are some surgeons who have actually substituted the bladder by designing a substitute bladder out of the intestinal tissue. Having this procedure done will vary, depending on patient request, the physicians skill, site of the cancer, and renal function.
Bladder cancer is a real threat. The fourth most commonly found cancer in men and the eighth most common in women, over fifty thousand people are diagnosed every year.
