Stroke – How to Protect Yourself From Catastrophic Losses
A stroke, also known as a cerebrovascular accident (CVA), is often caused by a blood clot in the brain which interrupts the brain’s blood flow thereby causing serious brain damage. A person who has a stroke might develop paralysis of one side of the body, might lose the ability to speak or might lose his sight. The type of damage done to the person is determined by which side of the brain the blood flow is interrupted. A person who has a stroke affecting the right side of the brain, will suffer losses to the left side of the body. A person who has a stroke affecting the left side of the brain will suffer loses to the right side of the body. Smoking and high blood pressure are some of the risk factors to having a stroke.
