Golfer, The Quadratus Lumborum, And Massage Continuing Education

There is one muscle that every massage therapist should know intimately, the Quadratus Lumborum. Has your massage therapist ever asked you how your quadratus lumborum was doing? Here is a little information you should know about this very important muscle. It arises from the aponeurotic fibers from the iliolumbar ligament and the adjacent portion of the iliac crest. It then inserts into the lower order of the 12th rib, for about half its length. It then inserts it into four transverse processes of the lumbar vertebrae.

William Garner Sutherland D.O. (1873-1954). It was controversial within the medical community then, as it is controversial today. Dr. Sutherland was a deeply spiritual man and later described the origins of the breath of life , a term we revere in this work ,from the Book of Genesis 2:7. Rolfing: What Is Structural Integration?

So what exactly is Rolfing? To many it conjures up as an extremely painful experience. Unfortunately, there is very little truth to this rumor. It can create intense sensation. Pain in massage therapy should always be a brief experience to alert the Rolfer to fascia that is stuck in an adhesive pattern.
